The atmospheric short film, which explores themes of love and loss, takes place entirely in an apartment during a house party. All light sources therefore had to be motivated from within the space, which led to interesting considerations in the lighting design. We decided to work extensively with ceiling lights. This allowed us to create an atmospheric mood while remaining flexible with our setups. We divided the apartment into bright and dark areas to create a plausible and coherent overall dynamic. This separation enhanced the narrative depth and underlined themes such as isolation within a crowd.
