Gruobi 1899.

concept.
To support the narrative structure of Gruobi 1899, it quickly became clear that we were aiming for a more classical, dramatic visual style. Consequently, particular emphasis was consistently placed on the visuals; for instance, a character’s decision is often conveyed solely through the images, without dialogue. This is particularly evident during the film’s climax on the alp. Despite the many static shots, the varied compositions draw the audience into the film. Supported by carefully placed moments of moving camerawork, this created a well-rounded mix of images. To create the film’s look, we aimed for a modern and neutral lens set. The Sigma Cineline allowed us to process the images flexibly in post-production and gave us confidence during filming.
